Sorry if I've missed this one somewhere in another post.
My car has done 64,000 miles and the clutch is coming towards the end of it's useful life.
Having just upgraded the power on my 2.3 Lpt with a Speedparts stage 1 ECU and filter and being that I'm about to start towing a caravan, my questions are:
1. Is it possible to fit an Aero clutch to a 2.3 Lpt?
2. If it is, would this be a sensible route to take bearing in mind my modifications and intended use for the car?
Any advice would be gratefully received! :wink:

I've now found out that the clutch in the Aero appears to be the same as in the 2.3 LPT. Both clutch kits apparently share the same part numbers. Thanks to Mick at Two Stroke to Turbo for the information!

B235E (170 or 185 bhp) have a 228 mm clutch disc, B235R (230 or 250 bhp) is equipped with a 240 mm.
They are very different.
The 240 mm clutch is highly recommended on your car !

This might sound a stupid question... but is it possible for the 2.3lpt to take an aero clutch plate without any other modifications?

you'd need to replace the flywheel, and probably other stuff too. bearings, etc

Actually the flywheel is the same, only the clutch disc and pressure plate are different.

That said, you will probably need to get the flywheel machined. As it has been used with the smaller diameter disc it would have worn to that diameter.
