I have a 2011 Saab 9-5 base model. Understanding the cost benefits of assembly line production, I assume that all 9-5 models were build to accommodate the "plug-in" of accessories at the factory and that very minimal re-tooling was required to add features such as navigation, parking sensors, remote start, etc.
Being that my vehicle does not have the parking sensor system installed, could someone in my position simply purchase the OEM rear sensors and/or parking module and "plug them into place" to have the system work as if it was installed at the factory?
Does anyone know of a list that describes the "potential" add-ons that could be "plugged-in" to a base model to upgrade features? I am particularly interested in adding parking sensors and remote start at this time (my smart remote has the remote start button).
Thanks for your expertise!
Carl
