Next week I fly out to pick up my 2010 9-5 Aero. It was too good a deal to pass up and the dealer is buying a 5 year 60,000 mi warranty for me (but it wasn't a concern for me). My real question is about the infotainment system or lack there of since it dosn't have the nav package. Hopefully in the future as the final 9-5's are sold people will find ways to hack into the factory HU to enable the Buick/GM touch screen (intelli-link maybe) or even iPad/Android connectivity for a 8" tablet. In the meantime, does anyone with the car know if the Harmon Kardon system will allow you to stream from your phone via bluetooth? I have a long drive ahead after getting the car.
Our Aero does have nav and the HK stereo (which is excellent to my ears) and as near as I can tell the only "connection" that's not supported is BT audio. I have an iPhone and just use the regular Apple connector via the USB port in the console ... works perfectly and, as a plus, keeps the phone charged.
Congrats ... maybe I'll see you on the roads ... we're in Tacoma ...
Congrats, do you mind sharing the price? I'm getting trigger fingers on an aero, but hadn't planned on a new car so trying to justify it to myself and the wife. Do we need three Saabs? Lol.
$30,660 w/tech package and 19" wheel upgrade. As far as I can tell the only option it doesn't have is the navigation and vented seats. I think I'd have more regret not buying it at that price and since its one of the last Saabs. It will have a nice home next to the SPG.
That's a good price. Dealers around here have the Aero, with the HK stereo only, for about $33k (and demo cars with ~1000 miles).
That's 4 grand more then the the Turbo4 Premium (manual) with the Tech Package (no Navi or HR) that I am looking at, and I am not sure the bump up makes sense (lose Manual and Tech, gain V6 & Aero body & better speedometer display).
I just picked up a 2011 9-5 Aero from a dealer in Green Bay that was offering a fantastic deal. My car also does not have nav, but the car does sync with my iphone a plays my music an the HK stereo on the 5 hour trip home. Good luck with your new purchase!
Just got home after putting 2,000 miles on the car and have to say it's awesome. The power is effortless, no turbo lag at all, and the grip with the xwd is insane. I went through three snow covered passes with Eagle F1 summer tires and never had a single problem. No regrets.
The rare snowstorm here in the Northwest gave us our first taste of winter driving and I'll agree that XWD is very impressive. We did changeout the Goodyears for some Pirelli winter tires, and the combo is really effective. There was a lot of ice on one of the roads and the car slipped very little.
I quickly became far more worried about other folks than I was about our Saab!!
Cheers!!
Ken
