It's the valve with 3 ports (c compressor, w wastegate and r air inlet) situated at the front of the car. The loom can be found about "6 to the left of the bonnet release catch (not these one inside the car)

Is there any way to check its operation without a boost gauge? THANKS DAVE!!

Very unlikely the apc is causing over boost. Usually when they are faulty they limit boost. You can check resistance between pins 1+2 then 2+3, they should register about 3.3r. Then pins 1+3 equal the sum, so around 7r there.

Ok, so it's the dash in face syndrome, not a really bad miss/breakup? Make sure one of the hoses has not fallen off the BPC, check both ends. Check the wastegate making sure it is not stuck shut, easy things first.
Good luck

Some info on BPC and other boost related problems.

Move the actuator arm with your hand to make sure its not stuck(let the engine cool down :cheesy:). Should feel the spring pushing back. Good luck.
