I'm looking to port and polish the head of my t16s but I need my car every day.
Here in France, it's very easy to find at the junk yard a head from a 9000 i16 but no way about a 900t16 or a 9000 2.3l
So, i was wondering if i can work on a 9000i16 first and then exchange the heads with the one on my car...
Thanks.

Based on my knowledge, H-block engineīs heads are same (whatyear your engineīs head was?) In other words Saab 9000 86-93 16V cylinder head should be replacable into 900 16V head.
Saab 9000 16V B202 engine have compression ratio in N/A model 10:1 and In Turbo Model 9:1 ,(donīt know 900īs compression rations)
Different pistons and camsafts but valves are same size in both.
You can made the swap, but usually cam bearing caps has been machined for certain camsaft, and therefore if you buy a head from junk yard, you might have problem that the clearance is too big for your camsafts and the mechanazation for those bearing caps is quite expensive.
I suggest that take your camsaft(if possible) with you when you go to pick up the head, and measure the clearance between bearing cap and camsafts.
I have no information about camsaft specs, between 900t16 and 9Kt16, someone might know and enlighten you about that, if those specs are same, you should purchase 9kT16V head then.
