: Godzilla!!

While getting gas this morning, this guy pulls up next to me in a white Godzilla. He worked for the dealer and was very very friendly. He said to me "this is the car for you!" and actually let me go around and fondle it....he opened the hood (unsolicited) and started the car. I haven't heard a smoother and more quiet engine before, while at idle the only thing you hear is air.
Just wanted to share.

Nice car. IIRC, this just beat the Mustang and Vette in a Car & Driver comparo. Now they just need better styling. It's so....blah. At least to me it is.
Given how insane Nissan has been lately (Murano convertible, Juke), I bet the next one will actually look like Godzilla....complete with a spiky spine, tail, and LED lightning bolts in the front grille.

Strangely, there are so many Godzillas here in town that they become almost unnoticeable. And every one I've seen is a sort of gray/charcoal color. Sometimes I see 'em and think it's a Z370 from afar.

A shame Nissan didn't market it as an Infiniti.

But was embarrassed against the ZR-1. Beautiful car though, I saw one at auction with less than 100 miles, still had all the tags and everything on the interior.

These cars are georgous. My friend got one for graduating college, well mommy and daddy got it for him, must be nice. Anyways the car is scary fast.

Incredible performance bargain, but the car is truly ugly. Not a nice line anywhere on it. But then, it looks like a Nissan. So.....

If I give the Japs credit for anything it will be market niche recognition.

It was no secret that the long rumored "Blue Devil", the ZR1, was going to be introduced at a price of $85,000.

But in a Sabbish move the GM marketing wizards decided that the car, via their market research did not have sufficient "bragging rights" and would not sell if it wasn't positioned above the $100,000 mark.

Now the ZR may still be a step ahead of "Godzilla", but the press accolades hailing the Nissan as the poor mans supercar, if it weren't for them there would be a lot more of the Z's on the street.

It is fast.

I think Sears had a sale on it this week so I may give it a look. In that white it looks like it was designed by Amana or HotPoint.

An old girlfriend came over with her new 240. Sunday morning at first light, I knew a great rural stretch with no side roads and about 3 miles straight.

In the bushes was an SP with radar and he just droned "I have you at 100 and accelerating". I was up front and just said .. "new car and wanted a safe place deserted, just once". The summons was for 75 in a 50. He was nice.

The other way around, the Toyota came out in 1967 and the Datsun in 1970.

Easy for me since one was pre-military and C&D covered it.

That's what I said, the 240Z was inspired by the 2000GT

vinnocc, I said the road was straight for three miles.

If you drive at about 100 you will be shocked at how fast you overtake traffic.

No you certainly do not need three miles but when you start, you can see someone coming. I missed the trooper fully hidden behind a hedge. Of course as I went by the "oh ****" light went off. I was anticipating a police unit out of the Kingwood Station on patrol from the north.

Now, if you ever go to take an old 2000 Corvette base model to it's published speed of 170, I would recommend a few miles of no access road; I had 4 to 5.

The Corvette is very strong to 130 .. strong to 150 but at that point the wait starts, you are going fast but the push on the seat ebbs till terminus of 170.

Or perhaps the E-type:

We could do this all day....I'm just saying that the Datsun/Nissan was one fiiiiiiine automobile.
