I have done a search, but not really found any definitive recommendations for performance exhaust for a stock engine. My 02 Aero's muffler is on its last legs and I will need to replace it soon. I would like something a bit sportier, but not a cop magnet. I don't necessarily need or want to replace the entire system. I just replaced the flex pipe. Any ideas?
A 2.5" cat back is easy for any competent shop to do. Remove the middle muffler (use a straight pipe) and get a Magnaflow or similar performance muffler at the back - weld your existing chrome tip to it. Works great, sounds great, cheap.
Cheap wise... just replace the axle back muffler with straight pipe.. if you want it even louder replace the resonator with straight pipe too...I did both.. Do it all for under 65 dollars... Cheapest catback you can get.. sounds good too...
If you choose to just do a performance muffler instead, just make sure it is completely straight through with no restriction to allow your turbo to operate more efficiently.
