I picked up my 9-5 on 30th Dec last year and have been really pleased with it so far other than a couple of things:
1 - LED lights across the rear weren't working when I picked it up and it needs to go back into the dealership for a quick fix
2 - The fuel economy is much lower than the stated SAAB figures. Official figures for the TTiD put urban at 34.4mpg, extra urban at 57.7mpg and combined at 47.1. I've twice driven on a 500 mile round trip on motorways, cruise control set at 70mph and can get no more than 41mpg from the engine. I hope it's because the engine is still wearing in but this level of fuel consumption is a good 10-15mpg less than an equivalent 5 series or A6.
I have read elsewhere about initial fuel consuption being low, lets hope, as you say, its due to the running in period.
