Hello,

I am Troy Jeup, I recently bought an 03 9-3 Linear loaded except the wheel pkg. I plan to get custom HRE 18" wheels in the winter, but I am open to anything at this point. I am having a hard time finding wheels & aftermarket misc. for this car. Also, is there any american companies that do aftermarket for SAAB? Is there any company that is what DINAN is to BMW?
Also, my car has been in the shop for roughly 2 weeks now, it has had some problems driving in cold temps. For example, it had to be towed in to the dealer because it wouldn't even start & the dealer said they are used to that. Is this car a lemon? because I just got out of a lemon coincidantely. Also, how does one go about posting pics on a thread?

Thanks,

Troy J

Those look awesome!

How did you know what offset to get? I am always weary of getting stuff like rims on ebay but you got a great deal.

that price was not with tires was it?

Thanks, they actually make the car look better in person. I found what the stock offset was here on the forums and this wheel matched it. I forget the numbers now, though. I bought them a while back and just got them mounted. Nope, I got a set of Kumho Ecsta 711's from Tirerack for $73 each plus a little for shipping. 225/40/18.

When you say sports suspension, do you mean Saabs or aftermarket springs?

It looks great as it is!

Actually, sports chassis (whoops) .. it's the same anti roll bars, dampers, springs, and bushings as the Vector/Aeros have. I think it will drop the chassis the extra inch or so to make the car wrap around the wheels a little better.

I was thinking about buying the SAAB OEM 18" wheels, but they are a bit too pricey & they are too thin IMO. If I keep my car I will probably get 18 x 8" Breyton CH's which are about $500 per, but much more worth the dough than the SAAB wheels @ $400. As for tires, probably 225/40-18 Pilot Sport 2 or Scuderia RE050 run-flats---If I get these I will take out my spare tire to reduce some weight.

The saab 18"s are mfg by BBS. If they said "BBS" on the outside instead of "SAAB" (actually it doesn't say anything without the center cap), I'm sure they'd go for $500 as well

I was wondering who made them. It will say on the inside of one of the spokes, atleast thats where they marked my dad's 18" BBS wheels on his snow tire set. I like the design of SAAB 18" wheel, but the width is a killer; even when it is only 1/2"

Yes, the Linear we have originally came with the 17" wheels and sport suspension package. I liked this wheel design a little better than the 18" Saab wheels because, besides the much cheaper price, they are 8", not 7.5" wide, and seem to sit out a little more and give a more aggressive stance.
