I just installed my e-code lenses when I noticed how truly limited the low beams are. In my car there are little cylinders around the low beam bulbs that would seem to limit the amount of light that could hit the reflectors and be put to good use. If I removed the cylinders would there be more low beam output?
Another possibility; why couldn't I have a similar high beam mod as a 2002+ 9-5? I want my low beam lights to run at the same time as my high beams for maximum light output. Would this be as simple as splicing the low beams onto a parallel circuit with the high beam bulbs?
I wouldn't be splicing into the line. You will create more current load and freak out the relay and fuse. There is a 'factory' way that I read on the Forum to do this, but it involves pulling the fuse box shelf out and getting creative with links and joiners across the terminals to get the two circuits to run concurrently. They run via their own relays though, which means current loads are in control and correct, so no underbonnet fires to worry about. Not entirely sure where I read this though.

I am sorry, I was wearing my "i'm stupid" sign. My low beam lights come on with my brights, but not my fogs. Is there any way to give my fogs the ability to come on while brights are on? I don't want them on with brights all the time, but I want to be able to use fogs too for maximum output. Also, I may put an hid kit in my low beams, but I don't know where I would attach it to the harness.
I think some 4300k hid's will be in my future for low beams, but my high beams are going to stay halogen since I like being able to flash them and they ridiculously bright with silverstar gold series.
Has anyone had especially good experiences with a particular distributor or hid brand?
I just looked at the vvme kits and they are very competitively priced, but I can't decide which would work better; the standard kit or the kit with the built in relay.
There are two kits I would consider; the standard kit and the one with the built in relay. Has anyone had problems running a normal run-of-the-mill hid kit hooked up the wires that would ordinarily be hooked straight to the bulb?

I have the type you are describing and have had no problems, I would say mounting options are not pretty and I tucked my wires and components under existing wires. Overall have been completely happy.
