Just installed a boost gauge and I'm working on the wiring. I am going to tap into the headlight and dimmer switch, so the gauge will dim with the interior lights. Wondering which one of these wires I should go with.

And I'm also wondering where the best place to a run a ground is?
try the top row the first and then the last one i know one of them work, nothing will happen if its in the wrong one, run the ground to.the nut on the firewall in the dash you should be able to see the bolt I'm talking about if you look from the front where you took out the switch. Don't tap just force it in there

This is how I wired my guage. Mine is set up so during the day its not on then at night when i turn my headlights on my guage lights up. I found this to be the easiest way to wire it with out have to cut wire off of the connector. Hope this helps

I didnt crimp them, i ran them in to the empty holes and pushed the bare wires in to the connector slot. When you reattach the connector the pins will hold the wire tight against th slots.
My gauge comes on when I turn my headlights on and it turns off when I turn the lights off. I think you might have your wires crossed. How many wires does your gauge have?
Heres how your wires need to be connected, black needs to go to the groud screw which is located straight back from the headlamp switch, your white wire needs to be hooked to the red/green wire. I think wat you did was hook your white wire to the red wire which always has power to it. The red/green wire only has power to it when the headlights are on. Hope this helps
