Hey everyone, I am looking to get a set of wheels for my 9.3ss. Can everyone post pictures and type or suggestions of what wheels to get? I am thinking 17" but possibly 18". Thanks everyone.

Read the one on "My new 18" wheels". You should be able to find more info from some of the links in it.

I have SSR Integral GT-1's on my 03 9-3 vert. Here is what they look like, I can send you pics of them on the car.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/DisplayWheel.jsp?wheelMake=SSR&wheelModel=GT1&wheelFinish=Bright+Silver+Paint

These wheels are bullet proof. See the problem with going with the factory wheels or any aftermarket wheel above a 16" is the fact that most wheels are cast. Therefore they will hold up very poorly on the average roads. SSR and BBS are the only two wheel manuafactures that make a forged wheel for the SAAB, forged wheels are very tough and light. My 18"s are approx 8 lbs per wheel lighter then the stock 16"s I replaced.

Can you still get the Saab 17x7 factory rims? I thought they stopped that as an option.....

How did you manage to get them to fit the SAAB? I thought SSR don't make them in 5x110-65mm

18*8 BBS CH (first set sold by BBS America) and 225/40-18 Pzero Corsa (treadwear 60 ) Grip is amazing even in winter cold! Hope all the gearbox parts decide stay inside...

Yes the cheesy grin is real and my Viggen is in bad need of cleaning.

I am really thinking about getting those wheels, I took off my 19's to have them refurbished and am amazed by how much faster my car is with the stock 17" wheels.

oslowley: are you thinking of moving down to 18s? Is the ride with your stock wheels back on much more comfortable than with the 19s?

Yup, unsprung weight is critical here. The stock 17" factory sport wheels are pretty good stuff, lightweight. A lot more inertia for the axle to overcome with the 19". 8)

Anybody knows what's the weight of the SAAB original 17" rim - namely the ALU50 (twin 5-spoke) and the ALU45 (5-spoke). Also, anybody knows who makes them? I know that some of them are Ronal, but there must be other OE manufacturers.

Both those wheels should be around 10-12kg.

Here are pictures of my Linear with a set of two-piece 17x8 BBS RK II wheels. I like the sport package wheels the best... but anything was better than my factory 15's.

Nick do you sell or plan to sell those BBS wheels in that configuration? I have not found it available in 18x8, 5x110 anywhere when I first looked for it.

Thanks.

I don't have the SSR's on my car. Was trying to get Vert to post pics of HIS car - he's got the SSR's, so he says. Far as I know, they don't make them in our SAAB fitment.

finklejag

SSR use to make them in a 5x110 bolt pattern. I guess nobody bought them, and they stopped making them.

Those are the wheels I am looking to get for my SS. Made my Fondmetal of Italy, very very good quality wheel. I think they sell them as Moda too. I may put this off till the summer because of the PPC upgrade but this is my first choice as of now.

Yeh i think these wheels are sharp, and they have a nice little lip too, remind me like the wheels i used to run on my beloved GTI. I had these on my "grocery" list also but now the PPC has definately grabbed my attention, and I think... pushed its way higher up the list.. haha.... my wife thinks im crazy.

Discounttiredirect.com somtimes has them on sale for like $210/wheel for 18's.. not bad! :cheesy:

I still think that car looks tough as nails... i usually dont like mesh but i really like the way it looks in that pic... prob a custom DIY job.

I saw one with the mesh grill last year and loved it ever since. I may try to do it myself if i have the time to take a look at the grill & see what it takes. I want to make sure I keep the Saab crossbar in the front

I wonder if something like this would do the trick.

Yeah and 93aero's car was the inspiration for me wanting those wheels - they look very sharp.

try a web search for Alessio F1 wheels. I have those on my saab 9-3 ss. 18x8. I think they really improved the looks, and handling is a little tighter while road noise and feel is only slightly affected as far as I can tell. But I prefer handling over cushy ride. My other vehicle is a Dodge ram, so anything is soft riding comparatively.

These wheels require a special bolt to fit, being a slightly different pattern size, but in several months of use they have worked great with no vibration or other issues.

search under my name for photos posted here earlier, I don't have them on this pc.
