I normally don't have a burger, a brot, and a steak... but it is the 4th of July and I am going to need the extra energy if I'm going to start blowing stuff up. It's what the Founding Fathers would have wanted.-Jim Gaffigan

I have fireworks from 6 years ago I have not used. They are dry and very dangerous (5,000 firecrackers of different kinds, 400 bottle rockets and assorted fireworks). The perfect concoction for a happy 4th!

That can only end well.

Our neighborhood pitched in to buy $1,000 worth of fireworks. Midwest/East Coast style fireworks are great, bottle rockets, mortars, 500 gram boxes...

My wife gets mad because she doesn't see me from sundown to about 12 AM.

We do the same. See my picture above. :cheesy: Everyone comes to our house. We're expecting 50-100 people to be here in about 2 hours.

illegal up here and most people seem keen on calling the police any chance they get.

But the town's display definitely makes up for it.

any good fireworks here are illegal.....but that didn't stop me from doing them when i was 13 :cheesy:. We always had to drive up into wyoming to purchase bottle rockets, black cats, TRUE roman candles, etc. and then we'd just drive back.

Supposedly the boarders are watched more closely now and its much harder to do.

Fireworks are totally legal here so it rocks. :cheesy: But the next state down they aren't, I believe.

happy fourth!!

one of our "neighbors" in RI used to pitch in for about $50-75grand (yes, no typo) for fireworks....a few years back he asked for a little help and no one wanted to throw in a few grand and so the weekapaug fireworks ended. been tons around westerly, watch hill, charleston, etc, so this year we've not missed out.

mom made special flank steak......I'm having it for my wedding it's so good.

Well, very interesting story from tonight. First, we took one of those one-light-multi-shot things, and lit it. Like one of these things:

http://www.crazystevesfireworks.com/images/multi-shot.jpg

It started off really nice shoot straight up into the air like it's supposed to, so I was merrily watching it, when it fell over.....luckily there was only one shot left, but it still shot out right under our pool deck and started a small fire there, myself and about ten others rand over and put it out quickly. No problems, no damage to property, and no injuries, so we continued with the show. We were having a wonderful show until one fell over again. This time there were 3 shots left..... I was standing about 20-30 feet from it and saw one shoot off and graze the back corner of my neighbors Ford Freestyle then hit their garage door and explode right in front of their car. I was running like h*** from it and just turned around to see two more shots fly toward a group of seven of my friends and my mom and one of her friends. One shell flies directly by my friends head hits my mom's shoulder and then bounced off and landed in my friends lap where it exploded burning two large holes in his pants and underwear. (You can see the holes in his pants in the picture below.) After it blew up in my friends' lap he freaked and jumped off the rail of the deck. One of my other friends started screaming like h*** (he wasn't hurt just freaking out) My moms friend started to run but tripped up the stares and got bruised up from the fall. My mother's shoulder is bruised really bad and swelling a bit, but she is fine. The second shell that flew that way missed everyone, but blew up directly behind my brother burning his arm a bit, and turning his pants orange from the gunpowder. Over all nobody was really injured. Here are some pictures of the scenario:

A piece of the shell laying in my pool:

My brother's pants:

And my friends pants where the shell exploded:

Great Balls of Fire! (Sorry I couldn't resist )

Everybody's okay thankfully.

And my neighbors car wasn't damaged either, it just had black char marks on the front of it and there was a big black mark on their driveway and garage. We rand over after we checked if everyone was okay, but they said not to worry about, but I'm still going to go over in the morning and wash it for them. I just feel bad not doing so.

So....how did everyone elses' parties go?

shot fireworks off the third floor deck at my house. my uncle came down to my families beach house with a trunk full of fireworks. after a few drinks we thought it would be a good idea to go up to the third floor of my house and out onto the deck. shot off fireworks for a few hours till the cops yelled at us. as the cops were driving off my uncle shot off a few more haha, we saw them turn around and booked it off the deck and into the house. they rang the doorbell a few times, and like 12 year olds, we didnt answer. but the rest of the night they drove past our house at least 10-15 times.
