it got 2,3L ´91 9000 engine :)
want to swap to better turbo.. have read T16 (16g or what ever evo has) , T3/T4 ;) and then T25.. all nice turbo i think,, T3/T4 is favorite i see , i am sure T25 fit.
what turbo would be best for my saab to use in 1/4 mile?
T16 , T25 or T3/T4.
The T3/T4 is more common and it appears more people are using such a set up.
My 1989 9000 CD is using a T3/T4 hybrid and I am having much luck with it. We also have a 1991 9000 CD with a 1993 Aero motor which has a TD04, this little turbo is very responsive but required some modifications to our 3” downpipe for that car.

wow, my brother's miata 1.6 liter has a td04, i thought that was a really small turbo, and would be quite ineffective on saab engines. well, i guess im wrong.

it can spool alot of boost though, more engine = more exhaust pushing the turbo, just depends on where its peak efficiency is and how fast it can get there on your application.

The saab's TD04 is a larger version, and the volvo's that use a TD04 variant use a sligtly bigger one still... just like the T3's etc, that is just the series designation, so not all TD04's are the same size, flow rate etc. if you look up the full part number for the miata, then you will discover that the subaru wrx, miata and saab aero's all have different numbers (although i think the wrx and aero's have the same model of turbo.)
Depends on how many ponnys you want. TD04 is a good choice but you have to notice that there is many different models of TD04. Saab have used TD04 15T with number #6 exausthouse on the 9000 aero and TD04 15T #5 on 9-5 aero. On a 9000 2.3 you can reach 310hp with a TD04 15T #6 but its not recomended. For over 280hp i recomend TD04 18T or 19T with #7, These can be find on some volvos.
