Hey all. I have a 86 9000 Turbo.
I want to swap out the current dump valve for a HKS SSQV one.
Is it possible to do the swap? I heard about stalling issues.
If it can be avoided, whats the best way to do this modd?

Anyone successful in swapping the BOV's for a different, more impressive one?

I heard it's impossible, as your car has an AMM that sees the air incoming in the engine, and if you let some air out with a BOV the FI won't notice, resulting in a too rich mixture. Hence the stalling.

Ya I heard that all around. But also I read something about mounting the BOV really close to the throttle body.
Any input on this?
The Abbott racing website is selling BOV's for the 9000's so there must be a way.

Somewhen around '93 they discontinued the LH FI with AMA, and started selling the Trionic. Trionic measures incoming air through a MAP sensor, so no AMM and no troubles about BOVs.
9000s later than 93 can use BOV without problems.
