So that your errors are there for the world to see. You have a couple of minutes to edit a post before it "sticks".

In before it closes

I've been getting a lot more database errors than usual as well, haven't thought much of it though.

I have noticed more db errors and slowness of the forum in the last few weeks. Not a complaint, just an observation.

You need to keep pumping the quarters into the coin slot ;)

I've been using Canadian quarters lately, maybe that's the problem:lol:

Yeah, they freakin' don't work in your parking meters, but your quarters work in ours

They are just trying to make things difficult. Your change isn't taken at coinstars, meters, vending machines, or pretty much anything here:confused:. It's ridiculous.

It's ridiculous. It's because the Canadian quarter is not worth as much as the US quarter so it's a bit lighter. It's funny money. Where are the days when 1 CA$ was worth about US $.70? It used to be a lot cheaper to visit Canada.

Can anyone tell I am a bit bored at work?

You're at work ?? Oh yeah I forgot, we Canadians (well most of the provinces anyway) get today off as Remembrance Day :) So if we want we can go spend the day spending our funny money ;)

It's close enough that it shouldn't matter. I'm always picking up Canadian change from stores (especially in Buffalo), normally I just keep it until I roll up all my change. Then I get the full $.25 potential out of that little Canadian quarter:lol:

The forums is off limits for me a lot. I'll get the message several times a week, more if I'm on here a lot. I'll try back in 5-10 minutes and it will be fine. It's very annoying through, if you see something you want to post/mod, etc, and you click on it and pause......then you get the message. :o It's seems like the last week or so it's been going gangbusters, moreso than usual. Must be all those cheap GM Saab flooding the market. :cheesy:

Most likely due to the volume of people checking out how sweet saabs are!!!

There can be a delay when packets go through the mid Atlantic unit converter, with there being a slight discrepancy between the US.MB and the UK Imperial MB, depending on the exchange rate. Which is, I think where Canada seems to be experiencing some difficulties, having a slightly lighter MB than the U.S.
We have big hiccups down here, probably due to the Coriolis converter located in the Kermadec trench in the south west Pacific. Magnetic anomalies impart a chaotic molecular spin on the MB, which flattens the vowel transistors and splits the stream, requiring twin dump receptors.
I know it can be a big hassle, but we are working on it. Well, I am at least.

i had just chalked this all up to the magnetic damage suffered by the large hadron collider last week. but this definitely makes more sense.

Cuba, my Coriolis Converter is functioning at 100%.

Define irony...

The forum crashed while typing a reply to this thread! I'm not typing it all again. It's pretty awful.

To be fair, i regularly get a "database error" message as well. Coming back a few minutes later normally sees the site up & running again.

I had one last week - logged back in 5 minutes later. Seems to working fine now.

I know we have periodic clean ups of old threads, so maybe one's happening at the moment.

Cleaning up the threads shouldn't crash the service. It's not a "thread not found" error, it's saying it can't connect to the database.

It's not just the db, apache and the dns crashes too... so it's obviously nothing to do with the forum itself. Is the forum on a shared server?
