Does anyone know what boost pressure (PSI) i should expect from a stock '95 Aero.
The APC Gauge on mine goes all the way into the red, but never leaves the amber section - I have a seperate boost gauge and wanted to check that pressures were within sensible limits - before changing them to not so sensible limits
thanks
Hi,
If I remember right: Base boost 0,4 bar
Max boost 1,05 bar
And bar to psi conversion: 1 bar = 14,5 psi
So base boost = 5,62 psi
Max boost = 15,225 psi

What would the base boost be for a 90 9000t and max boost? I suppose I should found this out before.. I think its somthing like 4psi - 9 psi or somthing in that range isn't it? or am i way off?

you mean base boost = 5.62 psi
max boost = 15.225 psi
At even 562 psi the head would blow!!;)
I think the manual for teh US market '95 Aero 5-speed manual say 16 psi max boost!!:cheesy:
here's the figures:
Aero Manual Base boost: 0.48 Bar = 7psi max (TD04)
Aero Automatic base boost: 0.42 Bar = 6.1psi max
Aero Manual Peak Boost: 1.08Bar = 15.7psi (TD04)
Aero Auto Peak Boost: 1.00Bar = 14.5psi

Shortlid, we use a comma as a decimal separator in many SI countries (Ville's Finland being one), which would make 5,62 the same as 5.62
In fact, after doing a quick count it seems that more countries use the comma compared to a dot.
Also - the the Aero manual peak boost figure will only occur using 97/98Ron fuel.
I used to get just into the red on my Aero (pre-mods) on a good day with good fuel - although some boost gauges read different to others.
If you have a '95, make sure you have removed that pesky heatplate on the air inlet for a good few extra bhp and better response (if you had one at all). A search on this site will reveal all!

Should I remove my heat plate? My '95 Aero, 5-speed has TCS and I run it year round including the 6 degrees F. temp. days we get here in New Hampshire, USA!:o

i have a 1993 aero....if i put a MBC...and a boost gauge....with the factory ECU....how high could i turn the boost before fuel cut off....people say 16-18ish...but i want the highest it can go with out the cut off....also...about how much hp would i get more from the raise in psi?
