My beloved 2000 9-5 aero wagon got totaled... They told me it will cost about $6000 to repair it. I just got the car a couple months ago and I paid much less than that. It took me a while to find an aero wagon with a 5-speed in black with the BBS wheels. I don't really want to let it go. Do you think it is worth trying to get it back in shape? If I do I will go for a stage 4, or am I wasting my time?
Please help.

It really depends on the condition of the car and the amount of damage.

My own car was rebuilt from a write off so it is sometimes do-able ;)

I've never said otherwise, it was a Cat C wreck with little mileage - a great place to start the project :p

Many hours Wessy and I spent with shopping lists at Salvo ;)

So I really do have a hand built car.......

At least you know every inch!

I had an accident damaged Mazda 626 once from a side bump which cost a bit to repair but saved quite a bit!

Sadly I then went in the back of a 206 and wrote it off a second time!

No abs!

It will almost certainly never drive the same again. Salvage any goodies you can and start the search again for another nice example. :(

I would add this when you have front end damage and esp when it is uneven the front parts of the car absorb so much energy that they are never the same.

You cannot simply bend them back into place they have done the job and the car has died.

You can theoretically chop off the front end but it is not worth it even on a really expensive car as when you start adding up bits to buy new it costs a fortune.

If you are not in a hurry then you can get bits from a scrap yard but the saab 95 is not a simple car and you cannot tell which bits are damaged until for example a fluid leaks etc.. or it fails again when you have a crash!

better to salvage I think!

You would really need to see more than just the outside to know for sure. First order of business would be getting under there and looking at the condition of the subframe where it mounts to the body. Autowreckers probably can sell you a new front end for about 2 grand and you could talk them into throwing in the subframe possibly. See if you can get a local bodyshop to do an estimate.
