Front suspension one-clunk noise

Hope this helps someone out there.

For at least 5 years have been chasing a single 'clunk' noise up front, right on starting out fwd/rev and on hitting a small bump at slow speed.

Upgrading suspension w/ new springs, shocks, ball joints, sway bar, tie rod end and all bushings did not cure it. Tightened every bolt underneath. At various times had several quality Saab specialists have a go, one well regarded inie managed to stip a butterfly bush bolt but told me it was likely only fixable by undoing all the subframe bolts and put some grease in there...ie live with it.

So it was a pleasant surprise when Rowan at SE Saab in Tonbridge, while fixing my speedo, showed me the bolts at the TOP of the subframe in the engine bay, and tightening these down good finally sorted the noise.
