My cars previous hose did not have any bung on top of it but the SAMCO hose does, as you can see in the pic. So I have just placed a big bolt in there but it leaks a little because the thread isn't quite right, and it's ugly. Could anybody tell me what should go there? I think later model 9000's may have had some sensor along the Top Radiator Hose but earlier models like mine didn't?
I'd like to get a broken sensor just to plug the hole. I'd even buy a new working sensor if I had too. Unless someone has another suggestion?
Yeah I simply just want to keep it plugged but with something that has the correct Thread.
I've been to a Hose Specialist who has all sorts of threaded bolts, literally thousands.. and they didn't have anything other than what I've got. That's why I thought I could just get a broken sensor to plug it correctly.
There must have been some sensor from some year model of 9000 as the SAMCO hoses are listed on PartsforSaabs as specifically for 9000's. And that's where I bought it from. I wish the hose pack just came with a plug, argh.
Maybe someone know's the thread specifications for it?
That hose reminds me of Prince Charles' description of the extension to the National Gallery, "like a monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much-loved and elegant friend".
I generally use Mackay top-hoses, they are inexpensive and I think they are made in Australia.
lol, well I'm stuck with it. It's silicon and it wasn't cheap being Samco. It's strange that no one has a clue what its good for as it was specifically made for 9000's. The whole hose set was.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
