I have a 1995 SAAB 9000 Aero, upgraded springs and 2.5" Cat-back stainless steel exhaust. i have an opportunity to locally buy an Abbott APC upgrade. The question I have is whether the APC for a 1993 Aero will work in my 1995 Aero. The APC unit is marked as 1993 Aero. Is there any differences that I should worry about?

Also, how important is the 3" Downpipe upgrade with this APC upgrade? I don't need 300 HP. My concern is that my Downpipe has the Cat converter and upgrading to the JT 3" downpipe would mean getting a new Cat and somehow mating it to my 2.5" Cat-back exhaust.

Any advice will be appreciated.

The APC box (Trionic5 ) is very different between 1993 and the later 1994-1998 one. 1993 was in intermediate year where just the 2.3 Turbo's got a special Trionic 5 before the whole range moved over to it in 1994.

prior to 1993 (1991-1992), the 2.3 Turbo's it was Bosch injection and DI/APC.
