I've been reading about the differences in the build of the Aero and (my car) base model 2.3L engines...the Aero engine seems to be built tougher.
Ok, to get to the point: I would like to do some engine performance upgrades, but has anyone experienced engine problems after boosting the HPower and Torque? Transmission problems?

mines a 99 2.3 lpt auto..
Currently running 246bhp, and somewhere in the region of 390nm of torque...
Been running like clockwork for the last 25k miles in that tune..
car has 113k miles in total.

Do you have the Speedparts 1 ECU upgrade?
What type of suspension work would you recommend (I don't want to lower it)?
Have your parts from Speedparts been reliable?
Would the Hyperboost valve work well with the ECU upgrade..??I don't think swapping out the Forge with the OEM is something I'll want to do, every winter.
Have you located a dealer for the Mobil 1 grease you recommend for the Hyperboost valve?
One last question...I located an upgraded PCV check valve, that seems to be well made and more reliable. It costs about $100.00, would you think it's a waste of money???

Mines a Speedparts Stage 2, had no issues at all with it! 8)
All 'sports' suspensions will lower the car to some degree, I'm using full Eibach pro kit shocks and springs, and am very very happy with it, its what the car should've been!
I've heard some good things about saabs own roadholding kit though..
You'll have to point me to the hyperboost valve.... heard about it, but never looked into one..
I'm using a Firge 007P valve, been on there since I got the car, some 40k miles ago... absolutely no worries at all, not given it a service yet.... supposse i really should!
Do you have a link to the pcv valve, I've got a Trent Saab valve fitted to mine...

This is the link for the Hyperboost valve:

I thought you were the one who did a review of the Hyperboost and the Forge valve's  ; I guess the Forge does not perform well in cold weather (sticks) and the Hyperboost valve does well in all climates, but whoever's review it was they liked the quality of the Forge better and had no problems swapping it out in the wintertime, with the Bosch. He/She also recommended to grease the piston of either one at every oil change with Mobil 1 red grease, which is impossible for me to find.
The Trent Saab valve is the one...what do you think of it?
I'm going to do some research on the Eibach kit versus the Saab's.

Hyperboost should work fine!
I see no reason forge should be a problem in winter though... survives the british winter ok :D
Depends how cold it gets round your area i suppose..
Trent valve appears fine to me!

Thanks Murphwiz...
I'll keep you posted on the progress and I'll be leaning on ya for some tech support. I think the suspension system is where I will be starting, then it will either be the stage 1 or 2 upgrade.
