Once in a while, I'll have the car in drive and the gear readout under the speedometer will tell me I'm in N when on the shifter, I'm in D. Sometimes the readout on the dash will say I'm in 3 as well. Should I worry about this? The car is automatic. Thanks!
in my 89 rx7 which was a automatic it made a diffrence.
if i put it in gear and the gauge cluster didnt match it wouldnt shift properly.
the problem was the neutral selector switch.
but the transmission in the rx7 was electronicly controlled.
so if the saab transmission is a manual valve body not a electronic 1 then u will have no driveablity problems, but if its electronic then u will have to replace the selector switch.
ull have to do some research to figure out which 1 it is because i dont know.
good luck
joe
Thanks for the help! Another quick question.. Do you know where the neutral selector switch is? I've got a parts car and perhaps it could be swapped out.
im not sure maybe one of the other guys can chime in.
