just doing the head gasket on 2.3 turbo 9000, just a quick question, anyone any idea what direction the 14mm bolts on the end of the camshafts go to undo the sproket, my gut feeling tells me its clockwise but i dont see any mention of it in any threads of it being the oposite direction, i dont want to sheer the bolts so if anyone can help id be gratefull
Be carful when tightening the bolts not to over torque. I snapped one doing my head job the other day on my Viggen. Lucky for me I could fish out the remainder of the bolt
cheers k900, you lucky bugger you, well im 12 bolts away from having the head off, fingers crossed, took me 3 hours upto now, 15 min away from success then ill have to start the rebuild, that will be the big job
anyone any idea what the torque setting is for the cam sproket bolt
the cam sprocket bolts are 47 foot pounds on the Viggen. I'd imagine it would be the same for all other saab heads/cam sprockets. I have a whole list of torque figures so any you need to know just ask and I'll see if I have it
