I have a problem with my 9k CD from 1990. Yesterday while I was driving it started accelerating up to 6000rpm without me moving my foot from the gas pedal. I stopped and try to start the engine again, it started very hard, after about 30seconds of cranking and with the same problem, without pushing the gas pedal the idle was anywhere between 1000 and 3500rpm and every 15-20 seconds I could hear some backfire. I checked for leaks in the vacum lines, none noticed, I disconnected the battery for 20 minutes to reset the ECU, still the same problems. I was thinking about 3 possible causes:
- DI cassete
- ECU
- Throttle Position Switch
Do you guys have any idea what I might be looking at here ?
