Sorry for the delay, needed time to get to this project finished to my liking.
I got tired of the peeling chrome on my ng900 grill so I peeled it off and tried painting it.. looked ok, but I wanted a dash of flash to set off the front. This got me looking at both my E36 bmw and newer saabs when it hit me.. the chrome centre bar from the new 9-3 and 9-5 is about the same width as the big opening in the 900/9-3 grill..
So I give you this:
First you seperate the outer shell from the inner grill and cut away the centre bar and fill and sand:

and you cut away the centre of the inner section where the centre bar went:

some sanding on the outer shell to smooth out the filled areas where the centre bar went and some paint:

And you get a hybrid NH900/9-5 grill.

Sorry, no pics on how the centre bar went... but I cut out the part that retains the chrome section on the 9-5 grill and trimmed it to fit before liberally epoxying it into place on my cut grill.
And on the car:

Once the weather breaks, I can finish sanding the polishing the paint and replacing the bumpers with better undamaged ones.
