Trunk Stuck - can't open automatically

I can't open the trunk, unless I crawl into and pull the hazard handle. I checked the fuse and it's ok. Any ideas?

Can you open it from outside using the key in the keyhole? If so, then the latch is OK.

Most likely problem, if you have a sedan (not wagon), is that the trunk wiring at the hinge has been worn/frayed. This can also affect taillights.

I took the whole car apart on this one then found the frayed wire.

Just peel back the ruuber boot on the wiring harness and you will find a 12V cable is snapped. Just stick it back together!

We have just saved you about 4 hours of messing!

Can you tell me where this rubber boot is? Is this near the hinge in the trunk?
