i have a 95 900se v6 with the whole shift linkage issue of popping out of reverse. ive made all the adjustments and its come down to the linkage just being too worn out. i can get a used unit very cheap at a junkyard. but i dont know which ones will fit.
i see that the upgrade fits all 900's 94 and up, and also the 9 3's. does this mean that i can get a used one out of any of those cars? if not which ones will work and work the best??

To the best of my knowledge, there were only 2 for the whole production line. The first one out in 94, then like around 97 i think saab went "WHOOPS!!!" and added the new style one that bolts to teh diff housing. They're interchangeable, but the "new style" one requires cutting off teh bracket that the old one fits onto and it's in a very tight spot.
That's my TL:DR version, here's more
and a bit of a revised how-to here
Go with a 97 or 98 linkage. They improved it from the 94-96 version. You'll probably have to cut off a part of the old mounting to accomodate the new version. It's a little odd to get in there with a hack saw but it turned out well in the end.
thanks guys! those links are really informative. im goin out to the junkyard this weekend to see what theyve got. im prayin theyve got a 97-98 900 or a 9-3
