Do you guys know what size the rear wiper blade (insert only)? The auto parts stores show 16 inches, but that is way too big.

For the rear wiper system, how do you undo the control arms with the 4 finger holders that hold the insert? Or, is this part of the car and do you only need to put the skinny little insert blade? For the life of me I can't see how to get (1) a blade that fits, like what size and (2 )how the control arms that hold the blade might come off from the the main control arm that moves and is attached to the motor...

The auto parts stores listing are frequently in error, even for American vehicles... I'm assuming that the GM TrailBlazers, Envoys, Saabomobiles all use the same set-up..

So, I'd look under the Chevrolet TB listing - unless you did already..
See if there is any blade insert retainer at the end - one that can be squeezed to release...
We do need some help here..if none is to be had, try the GM forum..

Went on my quest for the elusive Rear Wiper Blade Today. Autozone's computer showed nothing for the 9-7x Rear Wiper, but showed 16" for the Envoy, Ranier, & Trailblazer. When that didn't work I searched the net and looked in the Owner's Manual:

Front - 22inches (56cm)
Rear - 13 inches (33cm)
During my research I came across postings in Trailvoy about upgrading Wiper Arm Assemblies to the newer one. Now I am Tempted to upgrade my wife's '05 to match my '06 Rear Wiper Arm Assembly .

The newer style is much cleaner looking although i didn't know there was a difference until a few weeks ago. I am assuming you can just bolt it right on?

I purchased 2 13" Bosch wiper blades. Easily replaced on my wife's '05 wiper, but didn't work for my newer '06 wiper. The connector is totally differnet for the newer wiper. Looks like the only option is to find a replacement rubber blade that will seperate from the metal part, the Bosch blades won't.

Found it for sale from thesaabsite online shop:

97X 2005-2007 Blade Insert Rubber OES (http://www.thesaabsite.com/97X/97Xwiperwashercomponents.htm#) Part# 12368668

This gives me pause to thinking about the upgrade to my wife's older arm.

For those interested, Here is the post on how to upgrade the whole rear wiper arm assembly to the new one:
