Hi sorry if this question has been asked before and if its in the wrong section. But does anyone know if a double din stereo will fit a 1999 9-3 as it looks like one should fit in place of the standard one. Or is there a double to single din conversion plate available or is it a case of making something myself.

Thanks

Tom

yes it will fit, but you need to remove the cupholder (or cupholder slot if you don't have one)

I put in a double din nav system and had to remove the cupholder and do some minor shaving. Came out great though.

Do you have pictures after the double din install? Do you need any adapter rim, or does it fit in perfectly after removing the cup holder? Also, can you still use the steering wheel control for colume, etc?

to use the steering wheel controls requires an adapter (http://www.crutchfield.com/g_118900/Steering-Wheel-Audio-Control-Adapters.html?tp=476&avf=N) that costs about 75 dollars.

double-din fits perfectly after the removal of the cupholder or the slot below the SID, whichever one you may have....
