: alternator third wire?

i removed my alterator while replacing my fron shock. there are wires that go to the alternator besides the ground wire. any idea where it belongs. it apparently came off whule dissaembly. had no connector to it, just plain wire. any ideas?

should be connected to one of the little screws/bolts that go through the alternator, either crimp a circular connector on or just loosen the nut twist it round and pinch the bolt /washer back up

after i did my post i searxhed the site and figured the wire not to belong to the alternator. it was a wire that had come out of it's connectot that was installed at the oil filter housing. not sure what it's for, nut everything all assembled and working good. many thanks.

the wire is there so that if you have no oil pressure the light should stay on, on the dash, so if that was'nt happening probably your bulbs gone
