What is the best way to clean out the drivers on my Axles? I'd like to get the dirt, rocks, and sand out of the bearings and packed full of fresh grease before I put them back into my SPG.

I tend to go at it for a while with lots of newspaper but then again I read a lot

Em, the same as anything else. Wipe off, run something through it if it's been exposed to dirt (until the needle bearings don't feel gritty), then regrease.

Geesh, how'd they get so dirty? :o
Unclip and slid the boots out of the way, then clean them with carb cleaner and the like, get them all cleaned up, then you'll have to repack the bearings with grease, then fill the boot with it as well. Don't forget to pack the bearings though, really work it down in there.

I would probably soak 'em in good ol' gasoline.
