Well when I first bought my 9000, it was for $2300 with 275,000 miles on it. I've been using it as a daily driver while I spent all my money on my miata turbo project car. I've grown sick of having the "mule" stock, so I've decided to mod her. I'm going to transplant 9000 Aero front buckets and if I can, the aero rear bench too (does anyone know if it will fit in my car? it's a 5-door) The 17 some odd year old leather currently looks like beef jerky thanks to sunbleaching on the burgundy interior, so if I can't fit an Aero bench, I'll just reupholster the current bench. I've also decided that the car needs a drop, new paint, front/rear bumper and 17" rims. I've already gotten 208whp and 238lbs/ft out of basic APC and fuel management tuning, and I'm going to be adding water injection to curb the tendancy the car has to heat up under boost. I live in the San Fernando Valley, so I have to short shift the turbo to keep the car cool while the A/C is on, and that's just hell for me. I'm happy with the power the car has, but I want an intake and exhaust to give it a more aggressive engine note. Nothing too loud or ricey please, just the engine the way it is but with a bit more bass.

Here's a rough photoshop of before and after. The front is after mods the back is before... champagne is the ugliest paint color after orange and lime green...

Can you please suggest parts sources for the '86 9000T?
I recently acquired my Dad's 1986 Saab 9000T. live in Anaheim, CA and work in Torrance, CA. About a 35 mile commute daily one way. Just drove the car down from Seattle last summer after my Dad gave me the car. 125k mi, major service at scanwest seattle. No oil leaks, no coolant leaks. average 29mpg. just had to replace one of d hydralic clutch hoses after it blew on d freeway. was a metal tube that fastened to a flex hose. The only one available was an '87 which fit. I've been told that saab has stopped supporting '86 9000T's.
For now I'd like to upgrade the seat(s) that are falling apart. Next would be the suspension. I would like bilsteins because they were the best in my '67 1800S volvo. No lowering at this point, just stock height but better handling. the michelens are good but old w/some cracks. Next gotta have a stereo upgrade perhaps an xplod with usb. replace all the blown speakers, one sub.

I would like to learn about performance upgrades and eventually do that once the homework is done. I did read that the '86 turbo is an air cooled model so some upgrades may be limited.
