hi people

not so long ago i started a thread about trying a aero turbo gauged dash display in a saab 9-5 99 model, replys i got, was it will not work or no one has tried it cos i would cost to much.
Well recently i found a aero turbo gauge display for sale on ebay, picked it up cheap to have a go, well today i took my dash apart and installed the aero display, i turned the key all the lights lit up and gauge moved also the turbo gauge, started the motor and it started then stalled, i tried it again and nothing just the starter going,,,
it seem to not start and if i would stop and quickly start it would have a quick rev up and konk out, mmmmmmm

does anyone know the reason for this?????? all connections on back of display are the same, the mileage on my car is higher than the one stated on the new aero display, would this effect the car????? also this display had tcs and my car does not have this......

what do you all this ??????????

thank j

Yes,it have to be married, there is D.I.C.E-dash integrated...thingy in it which correspond with ECU,once upon time we swap the speedos of two 9-5 when looked for ACC problem.
Marry it with TECH and let us know what happens -if the boost gauge works I'll do the same:cheesy: swap.

mmmmmmm well i was going to get my self a stage 1 upgrade in a couple of weeks, it will be mail order and i will have to supply my codes on my old ecu, do you think the dash display uses the same code?? or do you think when i install my new ungraded ecu it will marry it self automatically??? also when i did install the display my air con did mess up

thanks for the reply

p.s anyone know a tech 2 to bloke in the london area

Ecu is different kettle of fish, they will ask for your old ecu number and get the security info from that to program the new ecu, that will make it plug and play. Its your DICE unit (Dashboard Integrated Central Electronics) thats the problem, it doesn't recognise the new dash and as a result its probably immobilised the car. I live in SW London and always drove to http://www.saabperformancecentre.co.uk/ for any work i needed doing. Can you not put the old dash in and get the car to a Saab specialist to get the work done?

now i understand, i have been looking at my sorman wis 3.0 and i see what the dice is now, im not sure about going any further with the tech 2 thing, cos its going to cost me a bomb when i thought this might be a easy answer than installing a turbo gauge, does anyone know a easy way to reset dice to accept the display??? maybe there is some thing i could swap inside the displays, im sh*t hot with a soldering iron

thanks for the replys
