Hi,
I've just installed a new 4-channel amp, front components and a sub, keeping the standard AS2 head unit as the input device and connecting it to the new amp using the RCA splice method. The problem I'm having is that there is a buzzing noise coming through the speakers and it's especially noticable when the volume is low. If the engine is running then the noise increases and follows the revs, but it sounds really good at high volumes (when it drowns out the buzzing!)
I have tried two different sets of female RCA connectors, phone leads, amps and I have tried splicing into both the front and rear line inputs (3,4 + 5,6). I have also tried several ground points for the shields. I have also tried connecting the RCA leads up in the balanced configuration, which strangely sounded pretty much the same. All connections are correctly soldered.
Anyone else experienced similar issues when connecting an amp to the line level inputs? Any help much appreciated - it's driving me mad!
