To the powers that be, anybody upgraded to 18" rims?

ASA JH8 Finish Shown: Black w/Mach Lip
18x7.5
Offset: 40mm Bolt Pattern: 5-110
Rec. Tire Size: 235/40-18
**Lightweight: 22.0lbs.**
Mounted some Hankook K104 tires and was all excited...
Now since the summer package has been installed, I notice the "concrete feel to the road" had been reduced instead of improved from the stock 17" Aero rim. It's like either the rim doesn't totally sit on the hub properly, or the suspension is not aligned / engineered for an 18" rim.
For instance, an on ramp to the highway even at normal cautions speeds if there is a crack or not perfect pavement the car has a "latter stutter" or more of a "crow hop".
One person in the tire business says it's the improved contact with the road the car is receiving and passing along to the driver. I don't believe that all the way.
The entire suspension equipment was replaced about 2 years ago so I doubt the struts are worn out, but not out of the question.
Guess my question to the forum peoples is, do you feel the 2000 Aero was not engineered for an 18" wheel?
