I bought a 95 900S for 200$ to save on gas. Everything is finally operational, except for 3 things:

1.The reverse gear doesn't work. (Not a big deal until maybe this winter) The linkage has been adjusted, but it still want to slip out of gear.

2. I have a rear light warning on the message display. They all seem to work, but I noticed that different bulbs are lighting when lights are 'ON'. All braking, signal and tail lighting all looks normal in spite of this.

3. On the dashboard, a red warning symbol: A triangle with an exclamation point in it is always 'ON'.

Once again, the car operates as normal and I am extremely happy to have only paid 200$. I would like to at least know what is going on with the above so I can try this on a longer trip. If anyone knows I would be grateful for the info.

not only have you posted this specific "Workshop" question in the dedicated area for long term projects and restorations, but you have entirely the wrong car.... this is not for NG900's and 9-3 (which is what you have)

round here we like things like Classic 900's (you know, the funny wedge shaped things from the 80's and 90's with gearboxes made of tracing paper) ;)

The SAAB Warning Light comes on when there are other SAABs in the area, they have tracking devices in all of them.

The reverse is pretty common, usually requires a new trans but try putting it in reverse with the engine off. If it works, probably just need a clutch.
