Im planning on painting my grill black to match my car, and i was wondering if it would be best to sand off the chrome or is there a paint that will stick to it well without peeling etc.

thanks

It is almost impossible to remove all chrome, mat it ,paint it like metal part and cover it with most elastic clear lacquer you can find.
However it will not last for long time,I have two grills an change them every few months:cool:.

what does that mean?
Im pretty sure he means to lightly sand it to a matte finish and since the chrome on it is a metal coating, you need to paint it as though you are painting a metal finish. If you see any gloss left from the chrome the paint wont stick. Dont use too low of a grit sand paper...... I think something around 400-600 grit. And make sure you are using a paint that is compatable with metal and not one of those plastic paints. Good luck :D
