are there any actual hardware differences between the pre and post 2000 9-5 2.3t? I presume the extra 15bhp is simply due to a different ECU map - am I correct?
The reason I ask is that I've just bought a secondhand Abbott Racing ECU off Ebay for a 2000 model 9-5 2.3t - mine is a 1999 model - will it work as intended, i.e increase my bhp to around 225?

Do you have the late model 99 with the floating rear calipers (that look like mini versions of the front ones), or do you have the early model with the fixed pistons (smaller, visible piston on the outside). If it's the late model, you should be able to use that ECU. Of course it will have to be "married" to your car via Tech2.

If it is a stage 1/2 LPT ECU, then yes, it should work. If it's a higher stage, or an Aero tune, then you will need the relevant hardware changes to go with it.
It should, make sure you fill up with premium before you swap it.
