Hi, i have a 94, 9000 aero, http://members.fortunecity.com/wrongimpression/back.left.jpg
And i have talked to rim people and done some measurements and 18 inch rims with 225/40/18 tires its gonna be around 25 inches. well i dont have 25 inches in the wheel well and it seems like it wont fit no way in hell. now i know there must be somebody that put 18 inch rims on a 9000. a buddy said hes seen aeros with 19s on the internet, sweeden cars. Bolt pattern isnt really an issue, 4 x 108, offset 33, i can get addapters made but i heard they can break? im not looking for BBS rims, im looking for some real nice chrome rims and i have been looking for about a few months so i dont know what to do next. thanks
I'm not sure I see what the problem is. Those tyres are only 0.2" larger in diameter than standard. I've seen people fit 225s to the standard 16" wheels, so width shouldn't be a problem either. Mind you, tyres do vary a bit so the sidewall might bulge sideways a bit more on some tyres than on others of the same tread width. Even so, I've seen 235s on 17" rims fitted on an Aero (a lowered one) without rubbing.
Abbott Racing recommend 18" rims for the 9000 to give clearance for the AP 330mm brake kit, although there are some 17" rims with enough clearance (like the set I am about to fit).
Mind you, 18" tyres will ride very harshly and the rims will crumple at the very sight of a pot-hole. The car may not handle as well on 18s as on 17s. I'll be sticking to my 17s.

yes i know, i do not mind about how the ride feels really because all i use this car for is crusin around town. The only thing im concerned of is the rim getting damaged.
So your saying it is possible to fit 18's on the aero with the right tires, without hitting?

Hi, I donīt understand, why 25inch??
The width of the tire is 225mm or 8 55/64inch...
And 225mm is no problem on a 9000..
Bill, what wheels have you got in mind, I presume it'll be something nice and subtle to keep that 'sleeper' look.

umm well i dont know why, i was thinking 18 x 7 preferably, to keep the same width as now, but i might have to get 18 x 7.5 or 18 x 8

Well, subtle-ish. I'd really love to have fitted the 9-5 Aero 17" wheels (with adapters) but I got a good deal from another 9000 owner on some freshly refurbished (non-Saab) 5-spokes. I'll post photos when I get them on - I do have Saab emblems for them, though.
