Ok, i recently got a scholorship for football. My parents told me i could get a car but decidided to just give my my moms saab, its a 03 Saab 9-5 2.3l Turbo. I have multlple things i would like to know or need help with and all of you seem to know alot more about saabs that i probobly do. I do know for a fact that parts for these or kits are rare. I have looked all over the web trying to find things. ok, heres what i need some information on, you can repost or PM me, either way, all imformation will be helpful along with hyperlinks.

1. Turbo, Can i upgrade from the stock turbo, i was reading that the stock one can not use a blow off valve because it just recycles that power. I want to upgrade to a new one that has a blowoff valve. Also, would a boost controller be able to work with this one. Any kind of turbo would be good. Greddy, Apexi, anything. Links would be greatly appriciated.

2. Exhaust, I have not seen very many exhaust kits for this car. I was wondering if anyone knew any good sites with good exhausts kit that optimize power and sound good too.

3. Body kits, i would like a nice looking body kit that doesnt take the saab look away, i found one that i like in a picture but have not been able to find any real kits. I would like to try to find one like the one below.

4. I would also like to know any engine modifications that would increase power. Any information would be great, i mean anything. I have the money, just dont have the information. I want to know everything about saabs that i can because i love the cars :)

Hey Saabx, and welcome to the forums!

1. You can upgrade the turbo, its a popular upgrade for the lpt's. One of the more popular/easy to get Is a Mitsubishi TDO4 from Garret? someone will correct on this. Unfortunately you can't run a blow off valve with the T7 ecu software( it really doesn't like them) Its not the turbos fault and will throw CEL's even with an upgraded turbo I believe.
However you can put in a open air intake and you will get the sound of the turbo spooling up, a popular modification around here.
2. There are quite a few exhuast options now, you can check CTI at http://www.customtubesinc.com/ Then there is http://www.genuinesaab.com/catalog/index.php which has several options.
Or you can go the way of replacing the middle muffler with straight pipe and having a magnaflow muffler attached at the rear.
3. As for body kits I know of few, Hirsch I believe sells them but they are very pricy.
4. Your best bet is to get a ecu reprogram, you have several options here but this is the most bang for the buck out there. Check genuinesaab for some of these at to see some potential power increases.

1. Upgrading the turbo won't make a difference for the use of the BOV, you need a recric for teh AMM, no way around it.

If you jsut wnat the sound add an open intake, and you will hear the sound trust me... not liek the BOV but cool sedate Saab-like

2. Exhaust, try Genuinesaab.com Also look for CTI ( custom Tubes Inc ) here on the OBars lots of members ahve been happy with them and they are reasonable good quality.
You can go to a shop and get one make up as well.

3. That kit is nice looks like the Hirsh Kit that is not available in the states and is pretty pricey. There is currently no Kit avialable in the US. Many people will buy the 04 front bumper and put that on. Goes right on the 03...

4. There is a FAQ about mods I suggest you check that out, it is most imformative

Would something like this

http://www.genuinesaab.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=47_72&products_id=558

be a good modification?

and this

Pretty much, i would like to know if money was not a factor, what would you guys do to your saabs, i would like links included. Thank you all for the help. :)
Sure if money is not a factor ...

but stage III with the LPT turbo you have will get you 260HP the same that the Stage I you are looking at with a whole new trubo...

You need 3" DP and cat back gs stuff is good....

You won't get the same high rev puff.... but the low end drivable performance will be nice

Just upgrade what you have since you seem like a new driver and get used to driving a high powered saab.

Nice to see you've got some enthusiasm, however you are taking the wrong approach at tuning the vehicle. There are some specifics to the Saab, or tuning in general, which you need to grasp first.

First and foremost, please read the tuning FAQ:

Also, check out some recent tuning threads, as these questions have been answered in detail, many times over:
