Hey everybody, I just picked up an '08 9-7x about 2 weeks ago and I love it! I'm curious what type of gas mileage you're getting with the v6? Thanks!

The six in the 9-7X is an inline engine, not a V engine.
When I drove 9-7's, I would knock back about 14mpg with the six cylinder and about 3mpg with the V8. I drove the I6's sensibly but pounded the crap out of the V8's.:lol:

How many 9-7s do you have? :lol:

When I worked at the dealer, I used to love taking the 9-7's we had out for a drive. I always reset the fuel economy when I got in them and spent an hour or so driving around.:lol:

GM;oops: should have red faces with the Saab Trail-buster "MPG".

The VW Tuareg TDI is at 18 to 22 or so with stump pulling power.

Yeah it always makes sense to compare a diesel to gas. Hey while you're at it don't forget to mention the $10k price difference.:nono;

I've rented a bunch of TrailBlazers over the years with the same motor, and gotten the same mileage.

I'm going to inflate the tires to a little higher pressure. I did this to my 1/2 ton truck and got at least 2-3 mpg better

For the comment about the diesels getting better mileage, well you better considering around here in the PA/NJ area diesel is roughly $0.80 a gallon more expensive. So you're not saving much with the extra mileage when it costs more to put it in the tank.

Same situation with E85. Yes, it's cheaper, but mileage suffers consdierably as well.

We get between 17-19 around town, and 22 highway, although if I slowed down 5mph it would be even better.

I went in with HPtuners and firmed up the shiftpoints, and dropped the rpms on them, especially at low load situations and leaned out much of the rpm range as well and saw a nice 2-3mpg difference.

I already had HPtuners for my trans/am, so it wasn't any additional cost to me. The 9-7x definitely drives nicer now with the little tweaks I did.

Before anyone gets worried about me leaning out the motor, GM made these things pig rich from the factory. There is a good 1/2 to full point AFR you can pull out before you have any issues.

Motor sounds awesome, gets horrible gas mileage, and the light came on 15 yards from the lot;)

I'm averaging 16.1 to 16.7.
