Yes, theres alot of work to be done! Thats the beauty of this. In the future, when we compare the before and after, we'll be able to appreciate the time and effort.

Becuase Saab paint is so darn good, give that thing the polish and wax of a lifetime, get the SPG panels and bumpers sprayed, and the body will look mind blowingly awesome.

With a new top, she will be on the way to factory fresh:D

my 2 cents anyways.

Unfortunetly the body has a few blemishes that will need work, otherwise it would look great.

Ok, So Ive installed the SPG pannels, and replaced the broken side mirror.
I also checked the status on my skandix exhaust and it states "delivered", which means I have a nice pakage waiting for me at home!

I think you will like the Skandix exhaust. I've had mine now for a few years and it still sounds great. Did you get the twin tip or the big oval?

Well I ordered the single tip... The bad news is that when I opened my package, I noticed the exhaust system looked a little different than I anticipated, I unwrapped the parts and thought, "Hmm, this isnt 2.5 inch"...then I noticed it had a twin tip and I though "Ok this isnt right" and when I looked at the downpipe I realized "THIS ISNT EVEN A SAAB EXHAUST". Well needless to say...Sandix sent me an exhaust system for a Volvo. I was a little upset at first but then just laughed it off. I contacted Skandix and of cource they apologized. They said they would call me back today to work something out. Ill update you guys on this if you wish.

...Big time!, its been a week now since I received the wrong exhaust and still no answer from Skandix, Ive emailed them several times and theyre still beating around the bush. As I recall, the last email they sent me said, "I cant do much for you from germany". As if thats my problem!

When you said you picked up a salvage top, can you describe that process. I was just about to spend $1200 - $1500 on getting a new top installed. I never thuoght about getting a salvage top. If you installed the top, would you give me the blow by blow and what you thought of that part of the project?

Thanks

Well, I went to a saab yard and looked around the wrecked 900's. I found one with a front end colission that had a very nice top and I bought the top for $250, its easier for the shop to remove the entire assembly as a whole instead of removing the material from the mechanics, so thats what they did. The same will apply when installing it, it should be cheaper to install because its less hours of work. I havent installed it yet, but Ill update you when I do.

Well, I Haven't installed it yet. Its been a little rough lately, so Ive been putting it off. I might have it done within the next week or so. Ill post pictures as soon as I do.

How bout a current picture though? I took this with my cellphone so its not great, but this shows my SPG panels intalled. You cant see it in this shot but I also have the Skandix sport exhaust put in. I promise more detailed pictures in the next couple of days. I need dig up my digital camera.

Done, Its finally done!, there are a few bugs to work out but the major work was done.

So I drove down to mexico to have the top switched out and and I ended up saving massive amounts of money! Labor costs are so much lower there it almost feels wrong.

Here is a quick cell phone pic
