Im going to need 4 tyres very soon and this deal is working out similar in price to a set of Michelins 215/55 x 16s.
Should add that the roads around here are pretty good. Any other recommendations please ,cheers.
Look OK, good copy of a BBS RX, which look good on a 9-5.
One word of caution though, most 225x40x18 tyres that are sold, even so called 'performance' ones will have a load index of only 88 which you will kill very quickly with a heavy 9-5. Ideally you want the XL 92 LI rated 225x40x18 tyres, but they are more expensive and not as readily available.

Dont know what they are called but this is my car-
My plan is to lower the car , maybe Bilstein kit , but was unsure it would look ok with the 16" wheels on . If I can sort out another set the 16s would likely end up for sale.
Failing these wheels is there a place to get good 2nd hand Saab alloys - 17"?. Not too much on ebay at the moment.
I think they look good, but Im curious as to how much they weigh? I couldnt find that stat anywhere. In my general opinion, if they dont tell you, its too much. If they were a "lightweight" wheel, its usually a selling point.
really form Mantreal jsut take a visit ( and your valuable CA money) to a close by US Tire Rack installer and have your tires/wheels sent there, get them installed and have anice vacation for the extra money...
No shipping and what taxes, you leave you rold ones at the installer
Standard LI rating on most 225x40x18 tyres I've come across appears to be 88 with the manufactuers offering a more expensive extra load rating of the tyre which is usually 92 rated.
This is in general for the UK market of course, it may well be different over in the USA.
The supplier of my Borbet alloys never asked and I did not choose a load rating [tut-tut me, but they were for the convertible at the time] but I was supplied 92 rated. Good job too now they are on the 9-5.
Load rating of 88 are only just legal on a 9-5 and in theory depending on the gross axle limit of a particular axle [check your VIN plate] they may not be permissible to fit to the car.
I can only hope that with the increase in the commonality of 18" rims combined with the creeping up of vehicle gross weights will mean the 92 rated rubber will increase in popularity and therefore decrease slightly in price.

I looked and most Ultra High Performance all season tires ( in the 18" size) are laoad rated as 91 to 95, Sumi and Khumo are $92 or $121 respectively, so I guess I am set...
