I have read about a guy on another board who wants a bi-fuel car with some considerable power. He has discovered that saab do not do a bi-fuel turbo and is about to settle for a v*lv* of some sort. I thought there was a bi-fuel 9-5 but no matter: do any of you in GB, know of an aftermarket bi-fuel adaption that will not invalidate the saab warranty and if so, who installs it?
thanx

Jeronimo - I too have been considering converting my 9-5 SE 2.3 LPT to LPG but SAAB insist that the balance of my warranty (just over a year) will be invalidated in the event of a claim. There also seems to be some doubt as to the engine model being compatable and that turbo diaphrams will require regular replacement. Maybe some day SAAB will waken up and approve LPG.

What are you guys on about! Bloody gas is for cooking, not cars and especially not Saabs.
Seriously though. My accountant has recommend that we change our cars to gas because we do in excess of 35k per year. My business partner has a BMW 328i coupe (I know, I know but what can you do) and when we spoke to the dealer he reckoned that it will kill your resale values stone dead! The 9-5 depreciates like wosname anyway so why make it worse!

The unfortunate thing is that most of us must keep an eye on vehicle running costs and LPG is a cost effective alternative to those driving a high mileage per year. My wife has a Mazda 626 with an LPG conversion and there is NO difference in performance but there is a material difference in the cost filling it up!
With the cost of LPG at £0.38 or so pence per litre this equates to something around 70+ mpg compared with the cost of petrol per litre.
What about the "green" issue and the low emissions from LPG. If you drive a Company car the future will benefit those Companies and drivers who can prove lower emissions and this has to be good for all.
Come on SAAB, lets have an LPG conversion/option on all LPT cars.
