Essentially the nav system in the 9-7 is the same used in the GMC Envoy and Chevy Trail Blazer. Does anyone know if there are any accessories that can be added. I am particularly interested in adding a rear back up cam (since parking assist is not available on the 9-7), a 6 disk changer and a bluetooth module. A friend has a Lexus whose map and features appear nearly identical to the 9-7 except that there is a button for the phone. Can any accessories be integrated into the nav. system, even if it is from another GM product??

I came across this company that makes a variety of inputs for factory navigation and standard non-nav headunits. They make video inputs for back up cameras as well as adapters for aux. inputs. Here is their website http://www.pac-audio.com/products/productsearch.asp
Also, it appears that the one they make for GM models is the same as the navigation screen in the 9-7, anyone try this company or added a back up cam to the OEM navigation unit? Look at this...

Also, on the Saab Netherlands website, it appears that they offer parking assist and a back up camera with the DVD naivgation.

I am curious if they made an external 6 disk DVD changer for the OEM (Delphi-brand) head unit with navigation. I have the nav. screen and would like the option to load and play more than one CD at a time. Any word if such a changer exists or would be compatable?

FYI - the 9-7X Navigation is actually a different unit than is in the Trailblazer and Envoy. It's manufactured by Delphi, and is also used in the Chevrolet Uplander and the Hummer H3.

No backup or accessories available. These are "old style" units that are not in the new GM corporate family of radios. Once the vehicles die, they're dead.

Thank you...I know that the Saab 9-7 uses a Delphi unit. However, the link that I posted above appears to have an adapter/attachment that allows that addition of a back up camera...I wonder if it would work? Especially considering that they do not offer parking assist, they should at the least have a back up camera to help out.

Hmmmm... I see references to "not compatible with Hummer H3 radio", which I bet means the same for the Saab 9-7X.
