I am in the process of getting an 08 9-7 and in the past I drove a 2007 and it had a feature called "curb view" which would dip the passenger side mirror downward to assist when parking...this feature appears to have been deleted in the 08. Is this the case or can it be activated/added somehow?

its not deleted at least not for the cdn models, its an option in the DIC one of those options

I don't have this feature for my 08 aero. I had it for my 06 97x but still managed to scratch rims so I don't think it will be missed too much.

Does your car's memory feature also retain the mirrors? I checked today an Aero and an Altitude edition and neither have the feature working or located in the DIC. However, it is listed as a feature in the 2008 owner's manual. Also, the car is supposed to have memory seats, pedals and mirrors...in the showroom today, me and the salesman could not get the power mirrors to retain their memory position. The driver's seat and the pedals moved into position, but not the mirror. Are curb view and the memory mirrors somehow linked. The previous poster noted that the function works in Canada, why not the US. Obviously the parts must still be there, so is it a software flash or something that can be corrected. I am in the process of getting an 97 and want this resolved prior to picking it up. Suggestions? I checked the owner's manual and it lists power memory seat, mirrors and pedals as well as curb view for the 08.

I checked the 2008 manual today on curb assist and saab fudges it by saying your model maybe equiped with it. I suppose if no us model for 08 has it why even list. Anyway this 08 has the tire pressure monitor which my 06 lacked. A much more useful feature to me than curb assist. Still it might be worth an email to saab if the manual is inaccurate. Some lawyers would file a class action over such slips.
I didn't notice the mirror issue probably so far I'm the only driver. I will check tomorrow.
The aero is fun.

yes the memory link the pedals with the seat with mirrors, i turned off the curb view, i didn't find it all that helpful, perhaps because I don't do much parallel parking...actually i found that I can use all 3 buttons for different settings, driver 1 is me, driver 2 is s/o and the big fat button is supposed to be the easy out button or something, i configured that to be my "highway lounge position", moves the seat back a bit more and reclines it a bit more for more comfy highway cruising...
what i found you USA guys get is the ability to turn on and off your headlamps...CDN spec models (at least the ones around here in Ontario) the DRL's come on whenever you start the car (as they should)....however the low beam main lamps, I can turn the main headlights on but can't turn them off (the twist thing just turns to the off position but nothing happens) if the auto headlight sensor "senses" too dark it'll turn the main lamps on but I can't turn them off after coming out of a tunnel either, tried it on a few at the dealership as well and thought it was a problem with the unit, i took it in for its regular service and made a mention of it and they couldn't find anything wrong, the mech tested out 2 others on there lot and found the same thing...but apparently all Ontario spec (hesitatnt to say CDN spec) editions are like this, some kind of safety feature...

I called Saabusa. I was told it has been deleted for 2008. They apologized. Again, i had it on my 06 and I won't miss it too much. I guess I could write a letter over it as one should get what you pay for.
What a stupid cost reduction decision when the vehicle has standard memory seat.... curb view/memory is gone for '08.

I do not believe that they have done that!!
I have the curb view on the 9-5, and it's a God-send, especially over here when the curbs are either 6 inches high or non-existant!!
Is it an option?
