Hi guys , I was wondering at 1360000km what type of maintenance should be looked at on a 900s (NG) 1994 the general and the specialist ? I'm thinking to re torque head bolts , scan ecu , check lambda (replace if bad) , check timming (maybe done by ecu?) , check ht leads (replace if bad) , flush auto tran , wheel alignment , cabin filter , replace blown oil pressure light , get front disks ground , adjust hand brake , check eng and trans mounts , new coolant . Have done oil 5w-30 syn , Bosh plugs (06) , filters air and fuel , brake pads and fluid (06) , water pump (06) , surpent , vac hoses and breathers , distributor cap and rotor arm , shocks(06) , strut top mount and thrust bearing (06) and rubber gaskets on cylinder head cover , good fun doing SAAB tlc :D , Cheers .

IMO, some, but not all of this is necessary.

The operation of all the controls should be easy and positive...if not, adjust, clean, lubricate. ......At 100K or so, the cables have stretched and need an adjustment. Some may need their second or third adjustment...
A permanent record should be kept on the starting times and the battery voltage, among other things.. A computer in the car will record all of this - in the future ...Then, hopefully, a diagnosis will be accurate and fast on all of the car's operating systems.....and there will be no more break-downs..:cheesy: ..unless messages are ignored.. :nono;

Thanks Earthworm for your reply , I will be taking the SAAB albanycarclinic.co.nz they look like they have got a good mantance program and prices to do the specialist services for the SAAB . I'm new to ecu scans and ecu info out put , so when the car clinic does the ecu scan will all the info on starting times and preformances of sensores be given thus helping to check the SAABs running state ?( juniour thinking now ) . Work is over for the year now tools down there and now tools up at home for SAAB play time :cheesy: I have to replace the crank timing sensors connection plug as its very brittel , I hope that Bosh has the 3 way connection plugs that we have on the SAAB or the euro car dismantlers . Oh I still would like to go and have a look at a 9-3 se turbo (hot or lpt ?), 00, 190000km, NZ$5k in the next town maybe it could be a good car ? Safe driving everone in you SAABs :cool:
