does anyone know if I can install Saab 93 CD player to Saab 900 NG 1997?
I know that Saab 900 NG has Clarion and Saab 93 - Pioneer CD player.
Will SID show information?
I have the opposite question. Will a 900 radio work in a 9-3 without requiring a trip to the dealer to get it to work? Will the steering wheel controls work?
I don't think anyone's ever tried that. The basic functionality should work, but since the data bus is completely different in the 9-3, the display and speed-dependent volume probably won't work, and the steering wheel controls definitely wouldn't work since the NG900 never had those. You'd also have a black radio in your grey dashboard, and you'd be stuck with a cassette deck, although a C-Bus changer could be connected.
9-3 radio is married with the car, they need to be divorced & remarried to work. I think that NG900 one wouldn't work. Probably the best for you is to get an aftermarket headunit.
You have to have a CD changer, and you have to hack into the CD changer cable. The radio won't switch to CD mode unless a CD changer is connected. The other option is the tape input hack, which involves some soldering and taking apart your radio. Search the BB for "tape input hack" or "CD cable hack" and you should find more information on those.
Yes it's mentioned in the thread I linked to in my first reply to the thread and in it you can find a guide on how to do that. Here's the link you want http://users.adelphia.net/~jlehome/aux_input.htm
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
