Ok heres what happened, i was getting off the exit near my house, and my idle got shackey, and then the car just shut off on me, the car would crank over but then not fire, last time this happened to me it turned out that i had a bad DI...but i heres my question, my cps wire looked like it got frayed becuase it was just sitting on the dp...if that is so could that cause the car to do what it is doing?
It's possible, but the cable has a braided wire shield, and the signal wires are inside that, so it could be ok.
Depending on model and engine, the sensor resistance should be 540 ohms +/- 10%, or 860 ohms +/- 10%, between pins 1 and 2. The meter should read open to pin 3.
Are you serious "the CPS wire was sitting on the downpipe" ??:nono;
It should not even be close...
How did this happen ? A good service inspection would catch this and other maladies in no time...:cheesy:
And, thank you, PMI, another one for the favorites..
